Merle Knotts, an MS patient, is riding a recumbent tricycle from his home in Marietta, Georgia to
his 50-year high school class reunion in Oak Harbor, Washington, a trip of some 3,300 miles.
Along the way he is seeking publicity to raise MS awareness and to raise funds for the Georgia
Chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society for their continuing fight against the
devistating effects of MS.
The trip, which begins on May 19, 2007, must be complete by August 3, 2007 in time for the
class reunion. Allowing for a few days off along the way he must average around 45-50 miles per
day to achieve his goal.
Accompanying Merle is Jan, his wife of 45 years, driving a tiny conversion van RV.
Also along on the trip is their 15 year old dog Brandy, a purebred Heinz 57.
